Wedding on Saturday, June 12, 2027: save the dates Dec 12, 2026 – Mar 12, 2027, invitations Apr 17 – May 1, 2027, RSVP date May 22 – 29, 2027.
Mail save the dates three to six months before the wedding and invitations six to eight weeks before, and ask guests to reply two to three weeks before the day. When to mail, every Saturday from May to October 2027
The rule is Emily Post’s: save the dates three to six months before the wedding, or earlier, invitations six to eight weeks before, and a reply date two to three weeks before. That leaves time to follow up with guests who haven’t answered and to give the caterer a final count.
An example: for a wedding on Saturday, October 9, 2027, mail the save the dates between Apr 9 – Jul 9, 2027 and the invitations between Aug 14 – 28, 2027; the RSVP date falls between Sep 18 – 25, 2027.

The last day to order printed save the dates
Order by these dates, and your cards are expected in hand 4 days before the last day to mail them. That leaves time to address and stamp the envelopes. The days count the order page’s slowest card in either country, so they hold in the US and in Canada.
Of the two order dates, the second holds for Alaska, Hawaii, Yukon and Nunavut; the first for every other address. If a date has passed, order now: the order page shows when your cards are expected before you pay.
